The Museum will participate in the Gananoque Festival of Lights which kicks off on December 2nd. An added feature is our Winter Walk-by Exhibit. This year's theme is, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner."  As this season is a time of gathering, the Museum windows will transform into a past world of dinner parties, afternoon teas, and celebratory toasts!

Founded in 1995, the 1000 Islands History Museum is a family-friendly waterfront museum where you can experience ten thousand years of Canadian history in the Thousand Islands. From rum runners to river rats, explore the people, places and heritage of Gananoque and the St Lawrence River through year-round interactive exhibits, lively community events, hands-on children’s activities and a quality gift shop.

Located in the Arthur J.E. Child building on the waterfront, we bring the past alive through our exhibits, programming, and tours.

Our admission is by donation. Contact us to arrange a guided tour for your group. Your generous support funds exhibits, programs, and operations.
